"No No No"

If Amy could understand that "no" means not to do something I might be the happiest mother ever. Instead, she thinks that "no no no" is just something to say while doing something wrong. For instance, rather than not scribbling on the wood floor with marker, she scribbles on the floor with the marker and says "no no no" while waiting for me to notice (that's when I remove the marker from her hand). Or, rather than not throwing her food off of her high chair onto the ground she dangles the food from her high chair and looks at me mischievously, saying "no no no" and throws her food anyway. Or, rather than not shaking her crib she shakes her crib all the while saying "no no". Someday we'll get it . . . I hope. In the meantime I just have to laugh.

Ballet

I started a Ballet class last night - a sweet Christmas gift from Kenny. Luckily, I have no pictures of the event, but I do have the sore legs and arms and stomach (did I say legs?) to prove it! I can hardly move today. A couple times I had to catch myself going up and down stairs so I wouldn't fall. I guess that happens after four years of not doing ballet (or any other exercise) and two children in between. Lucky for Amy she pretty much gets to do anything she wants today while I recuperate!

Ian's Blessing

Ian will be blessed March 2, 2008 at the Ridgeland Ward Building at 1:00 pm. We would love for all our family and friends to be there. We will have a light dinner and family gathering after the meeting.

Las Vegas

Kenny, Amy, Ian, and I made our first family vacation together. We got a wild hair and drove on Valentine's Day to Vegas for a quick 48 hour trip (including drive time) with our friends the Knapps. The fast trip was worth it! Kenny and I enjoyed a concert of my favorite band, Editors, as well as the all you can eat sushi, seafood and prime rib (not to mention all you can drink Mountain Dew). Amy enjoyed the sushi and the all you can eat blueberries, cantaloupe, and watermelon. We hoped to go swimming in the hotel's pool but the water was too cold, so we had our own private swim in the hotel's jacuzzi tub. I think Amy enjoyed it just as well.

Welcome Ian!

Ian Kenneth Curtis joined our family on December 17, 2007. He arrived weighing 6 lb 10 oz and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. He has been a joy! Amy has grown fond of her younger brother, frequently kissing him, forcing his binky in his mouth, and poking his eyes.
