Ian: Ian has said his first "real" word (outside mama, dada, and uh-oh). Any guesses? It started out as "ball" but quickly became "basketball" or "bakball" :). He's been saying it non-stop since Thursday night when he watched the Jazz game with his daddy. This was exciting, not to mention really cute. Here's a little video of Ian and his first word (Don't worry it's 3 seconds!):
Amy: Talks about everything now. She still doesn't put her sentences together perfectly but she can definitely tell us anything she wants to. One of my favorite parts of the day is when she wakes up in the morning or after taking a nap in the afternoon. She announces to the household "Amy's awake". It never ceases to get old. She's become a big helper too. I've been starting to do chores with her . . . like making her bed every morning and clearing her plate after eating a meal. It's not sinking in quite yet but we're practicing. I need to make her a little chore chart so she can put stickers on it.
Renae: I've been organizing my house. In the last three months I've pretty much cleaned out every cabinet, drawer, and closet - dejunked, organized, and thrown away! It's been so wonderful, and remarkably really fun. My theory is the more organized I can get my home the more fun things we can do as a family. I've given myself a curfew too (explaining the lack of blog posts and facebook comments and emails) . . . but hopefully I'll get organized enough to do that more too). So far, it's made such a difference in how I feel at home. I've also started working a little for my brother, Kevin. He started a business last year (http://www.signwithasmile.com/) where he provides a digital guestbook at weddings (among other technological services). I've been compiling the digital guestbooks and have been making them into scrapbooks. It's been fun.
Ken: Ken started a new job last month that he's really liking. He had been at the University Hospital with ARUP for over 8 years and finally made the leap over to ARUP's main research facility. He's supervising the "EH" area of the lab, where all the specimen problems are corrected. He's really liking the change of scenery and the new challenges.
Other than that, we are all excited that our tulips (my favorite flower) are popping up!! This is our first year of having tulips in the yard. They remind me that Spring really is close! We also planted our peas and some lettuce a few weeks ago and are anxious to get the rest of our garden going. The kids are ready to start playing outside! Any time it's semi-decent weather they are begging to go out. I can already tell we have some wonderful months ahead of us.

You will remember to invite us over when it's nice so we can play too...right?!! I'll call you to see when we can come over next week, it's supposed to be nice!!
What a great way to keep friends and family informed on your family life! Great job. Thanks for sharing.
So thrilled to visit & see your update! Ian has a full head of hair such a cutie! Amy getting to my favorite stage - where they want to help with everything & talk enough to communicate - yet still young enough to snuggle! Sounds like Ian & Kenny are bonding & you're seeing the differences that boys bring to the family. Congrats to Kenny on the new job!! :-D Wish we could be close enough to have a dinner together to celebrate! Post pictures of the tulips they are such a beautiful flower one of my favorites! Good job on the cleaning you're motivating me. There is something to Spring Cleaning. I think it's that all the holidays are behind us and we have the time to focus on organizing. It's sweet though. Wonderful that you're working with Darrell! He sure gets to visit some fun places & his concept is unique & fun to work with I'm sure. You'll have to post some of your finished products (if you can). Hello to the family!
